The main difference between NexTemp® and Tempa•DOT® is read time. After the temperature fires on a Tempa•DOT® thermometer, the reading is permanent, no need to rush to check the reading. Because of this, Tempa•DOT® thermometers must be stored in a temperature-controlled environment.

Each of the dots has its own formulated temperature point that fires at a specific temperature. When a dot fires, its color changes from brown to blue. The number of dots that fire is dependent upon the patient’s temperature. The last blue dot provides an accurate temperature reading.
